Fall Semester Fairs

Each semester BYU holds fairs to give students access to information about majors, research opportunities, study abroads, and other options to enrich their learning. Attending these fairs is valuable to freshmen so that they are aware of the many options they have to enrich and diversify their college education and can plan what opportunities they want to take during their time at BYU.

Career Fairs

BYU hosts several career fairs each semester which enable students to connect with companies. Career fairs are important for students, including freshmen, to attend for several reasons.

  • Many companies conduct interviews and hire students at career fairs. It’s a great way for your student to find a summer job or internship.
  • Even if your student isn’t interested in a job yet, these career fairs will give your student excellent opportunities to discuss their resume with potential employers and ask questions about what the company is looking for in employees. This information can then be used to tailor their university experience to their specific career goals.
  • Career fairs allow students to begin networking with potential employers.
  • Attending a career fair can give students opportunities to practice professional behavior and learn how to briefly introduce themselves and their skills to a potential employer.

University Career Services also offers advice and resources concerning resumes, interviews, and networking to help students prepare for career fairs.
